The Bond betting pool is heating up, and while awaiting an official announcement, new rumors are fueling the race to play the most beloved secret agent. According to a reliable report, Jacob Elordi has met and undergone a screen test with Denis Villeneuve, the director chosen to helm Bond 26.

No confirmation, of course, but the Australian actor's name keeps coming up after months of rumors that also involved Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Tom Holland, Harris Dickinson, and Callum Turner. Elordi is 28 years old and is one of the most in-demand faces of the moment: revealed by Euphoria, he has worked with Sofia Coppola in Priscilla and with Guillermo del Toro in Frankenstein, a role that earned him an Oscar nomination and the Critics Choice Award for Best Supporting Actor.

Frankenstein's Monster Was the Matchmaker

His eventual selection would mark several "records": he would be the youngest Bond, the tallest (1.96 m), and the second Australian after George Lazenby. A profile that seems to match Amazon's idea of rejuvenating the character after Daniel Craig's farewell in No Time To Die.

Meanwhile, Elordi will soon be in cinemas with Emerald Fennell's Wuthering Heights, an already much-discussed film. Bond 26, written by Steven Knight (Peaky Blinders), will enter production in 2027 with an expected release in 2028. It will be the first chapter of the Amazon era, without Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson at the helm. The final decision on the new 007 is expected by mid-this year.
