The arrival of Scream 7 marks a significant turning point for one of the most enduring and instantly recognizable horror sagas in contemporary cinema. After a complex production period and a profound creative reorganization, the seventh chapter brings Sidney Prescott, the foundational figure of the entire franchise, back to the center, entrusting the direction to Kevin Williamson, who was already the writer and narrative architect of the first films. The project is conceived as a direct continuation of the events of Scream VI, but chooses a more intimate angle, linked to the past and the long-term consequences of the violence that has marked its protagonist's life. What emerges is a chapter that looks back to question what remains, today, of that legacy.

The Plot of Scream 7: What is it About?

The story picks up with Sidney Prescott, who has tried to leave years of nightmares behind, building a new life away from the spotlight and the massacres that marked her youth. The illusion of normalcy is shattered by the arrival of a new killer masked as Ghostface, who targets the most important person to her: her daughter.

The film thus links the threat not only to survival but to the family dimension, forcing Sidney to confront once again a past that continues to resurface. The horror is a legacy that risks affecting a new generation, transforming the final confrontation into a showdown with everything the protagonist believed she had overcome.

When is Scream 7 Released: The Release Date

Scream 7 is scheduled to be released in Italian cinemas on February 26, 2026. For the first time in the saga's history, the film will also be screened in IMAX format.

The Cast of Scream 7: Actors and Actresses

The heart of the project is the return of Neve Campbell (star of the Scream film saga, House of Cards, Blind Horizon) in the role of Sidney Prescott, who was absent in the previous chapter. Alongside her, Courteney Cox (Friends, Misfits, Ace Ventura: Pet Detective) returns as Gale Weathers, one of the series' historical faces.

The film introduces Isabel May (Alexa & Katie, Young Sheldon, 1883, 1923) in the role of Sidney's daughter, a central figure in the narrative development, while Jasmin Savoy Brown (Scream VI, Yellowjackets, For the People) and Mason Gooding (Scream VI, Love, Victor) reprise their roles as the Meeks-Martin twins, who already survived the events of the previous two chapters.

The cast is completed by Anna Camp, Joel McHale as Sidney's husband, Mckenna Grace, Michelle Randolph, Jimmy Tatro, Asa Germann, Celeste O’Connor, Sam Rechner, Ethan Embry, Tim Simons, and Mark Consuelos, all in as-yet-undetailed roles.

Roger L. Jackson also returns as the iconic voice of Ghostface. The presence of David Arquette as Dewey Riley, a character presumed dead in Scream (2022), is also confirmed, as is that of Matthew Lillard and Scott Foley, who played previous killers in the saga, whose involvement is part of a broader recovery of historical figures from the franchise.

The Soundtrack of Scream 7

The music is entrusted to Marco Beltrami, who returns to collaborate with the saga after composing the soundtracks for the first four chapters. The composer completed the work in Budapest with a full orchestra, alternating new original compositions with re-elaborations of the historical themes linked to Sidney Prescott. A choice that strengthens the connection with the series' classic sound identity.
