Xelan Force AE: The 8-bit Shmup Reborn in the '90s

PiXEL has announced Xelan Force AE, or Xelan Force Advanced Edition if you prefer. The original Xelan Force, released in February 2024 on Steam and Switch, was a vertical-scrolling shooter inspired by 8-bit classics. This new adaptation, however, draws inspiration from the '90s, from its presentation to its updated mechanics.

Xelan Force AE will debut in Japan (we don't know about a potential Western release) in 2026 on PC via Steam, Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation 5. A physical edition including Xelan Force is also planned. Here's the announcement trailer.
