Wargaming announces the release of World of Tanks: Heat, available starting today, May 26, on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC (via its proprietary client, Steam, or Xbox PC), and GeForce NOW. This title supports cross-play and cross-progression across all platforms, but a Wargaming account is required to access it. Like its "older brother" World of Tanks, Heat is also a tactical free-to-play shooter, in the form of vehicle combat.

However, there are some significant differences compared to the reference model: in contrast to World of Tanks, the role of the agent commanding the tank is emphasized, to the point that Wargaming speaks of "hero-driven tanks." The second significant difference concerns the setting: World of Tanks primarily uses vehicles from World War II or a few decades more recent, while WoT: Heat is set in an alternative futuristic present, featuring tanks with highly technological solutions.
