Will Lana del Rey Sing the Main Theme for 007 First Light?
A song with the same name as the game has surfaced – a coincidence?
James Bond films wouldn't be the same without the extraordinary soundtracks that have accompanied them, with some songs so iconic that they've entered the collective imagination (You Only Live Twice, Goldfinger, Live and Let Die, just to name a few that even the walls know). The upcoming video game based on the franchise, 007 First Light, could in turn be enhanced by a great main theme, with the performance of an international star.
Lana del Rey and First Light
Lana Del Rey, real name Elizabeth Woolridge Grant, is a New York singer-songwriter who achieved international fame in 2012, thanks in part to a hit called, wouldn't you know it, Video Games. A Reddit user discovered that Del Rey has registered the title for a song, First Light, with ASCAP (American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers).
For now, there's no confirmation that the song is related to the video game, but the identical name and the timing (the game will be released in a few months, in March) lead us to suspect that there is a connection, and that therefore 007 First Light will probably have a main theme worthy of a film.
