Total War: MEDIEVAL III Announced in Trailer
Live-action for development that has just begun
SEGA and The Creative Assembly have surprisingly announced that they are working on a new installment in their celebrated strategy saga, Total War. Leaving behind the fantasy settings of Warhammer and the oriental settings of Shogun or Three Kingdoms, the team is once again focusing on Europe during the "Dark Ages" [we hope historians don't hear us use this improper definition] and announces Total War: MEDIEVAL III.
However, there is nothing concrete to show at the moment: the game is in its early stages of development, so for the announcement, a live-action trailer was chosen in which different types of monarchs, from the wise and elderly king to the ambitious youngster, passing through the belligerent conqueror or women interested in faith or honor, describe the role of a governor in such a turbulent era.
Total War: MEDIEVAL III: The Live-Action Trailer
"This chapter will be both a tribute to its legendary predecessors and a courageous revolution for the series - the developers declare - Built as the definitive medieval strategic sandbox, it will give players the power to shape realms, rewrite history, and immerse themselves in the Middle Ages like never before. Combining meticulous historical authenticity with the unpredictability of player actions, this is more than a sequel: it is the rebirth of historical Total War."
Even more interestingly, Total War: MEDIEVAL III will be the first installment in the series to debut, in addition to PC, also on consoles: it is currently announced for "PlayStation and Xbox"; however, the fact that "PS5 and Xbox Series" was not specified raises the suspicion that development times could lead it to a hypothetical next generation.
The Creative Assembly has also stated that they have another game in preparation and that it will be shown at the TGA next week: we'll have to wait and see...
