Created by R. Scott Gemmill, already the creator of cult shows like E.R. – Doctors in the Front Line and NCIS: Los Angeles, the series is an HBO Max Original production and has established itself in the United States as one of the most watched and discussed titles of the year. Set in the emergency room of the Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center, the series realistically and intensely portrays the daily lives of healthcare workers who, amidst continuous emergencies, grueling shifts, and split-second decisions, fight every day to save lives.

The protagonist is Noah Wyle as Dr. Michael “Robby” Robinavitch, a doctor scarred by the pandemic and the loss of his mentor, who leads a group of young residents grappling with the challenges of emergency medicine and a hospital administration more focused on costs than patients.
Each episode covers one hour of a shift, providing an authentic portrait of contemporary American healthcare. Alongside Wyle is an ensemble cast that includes Tracey Ifeachor, Patrick Ball, Katherine LaNasa, Supriya Ganesh, Fiona Dourif, Taylor Dearden, Isa Briones, Gerran Howell, and Shabana Azeez. Not least the talented Shawn Hatosy, the legendary crazy brother from the series Animal Kingdom. Already renewed for a second season.
