The Batman 2, Sebastian Stan Reveals His Mysterious Role
The news carries particular weight considering the character's journey in the comics
For months, Sebastian Stan fueled the game of clues, until an interview blew the lid off. The actor will be Harvey Dent in The Batman 2, the Gotham prosecutor destined to become one of the city's most important characters.
The revelation came during an interview with Le Journal du Dimanche, in which Stan was discussing the strict secrecy imposed on the projects he participates in. When the conversation turned to Matt Reeves' film, Harvey Dent's name came up without much ado.
A New Face for Reeves' Gotham
The news carries particular weight considering the character's journey in the comics. Dent is Gotham's district attorney and one of Batman's most important allies, before his transformation into Two-Face leads him to the other side of the law.
Dent's entry could also fit perfectly into the Gotham shown by Reeves. After the consequences of the Riddler's attack and the criminal rise of Oz Cobb - Penguin, the city's reconstruction offers fertile ground for a story where justice and corruption return to the center.
It is not certain that The Batman 2 will already show the birth of Two-Face. Reeves might instead slowly build Dent's fall, letting Sebastian Stan himself portray its beginning. The film will arrive in theaters on February 18, 2028, with Robert Pattinson once again as Bruce Wayne.
