Switch is Nintendo's best-selling console ever, Switch 2 over 17 million
The DS has finally been dethroned
Nintendo has published its sales figures for the last quarter of 2025. During this period, Switch 2 sold approximately 7 million units, bringing its total to 17.37 million. Switch, on the other hand, reached 155.37 million, making it Nintendo's best-selling console ever, surpassing the DS with its 154 million.
On the software front, a remarkable 47.37 million games were sold. The ranking of best-selling titles for Switch remains unchanged, with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe exceeding 70 million, while the Switch 2 chart is bolstered by a couple of new entries: Pokemon Legends: Z-A Nintendo Switch 2 Edition at 3.89 million (not bad, considering the Switch version is at 8.41 million with ten times the user base) and Kirby Air Riders at 1.76 million. No mention of Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, indicating that neither version broke the million mark (perhaps combining sales?). Below are the two top tens and some honorable mentions.
