Super Mario Land, the first Mario game for Game Boy, now on Nintendo Music
The title that accompanied the launch of Nintendo's first portable console is now within earshot
Nintendo has updated the playlist for the Nintendo Music app with another vintage classic. This week's candidate is Super Mario Land, which accompanied the launch of the Game Boy in stores worldwide between April 1989 and September 1990. One of the plumber's "smallest" adventures, but also one of the most interesting to revisit, considering the use of scenic and gameplay elements rather unusual for the series, including horizontal-scrolling shooter sections inspired by none other than Gradius.
Composed by Hirokazu Tanaka, the soundtrack includes 33 tracks for 24 minutes of listening. As usual, we remind you that Nintendo Music is available for free download, but can only be used by subscribers to the Nintendo Switch Online service. See you next week for a new update.
