Nintendo and Illumination have finally shown their hand: The Super Mario Galaxy – The Movie is revealed in a trailer just released online, and the impression is one of a true escalation, not just a simple replication of the previous success. The video immediately aims high, expanding Mario's cinematic universe and officially introducing Yoshi, a protagonist announced long ago and now finally at the center of the action.

The famous green dinosaur appears agile, expressive, and perfectly integrated into the film's rhythm. His presence isn't just fan service, but a clear signal: this new adventure aims to recapture the more exploratory and wondrous spirit of the saga, looking to the chapters most beloved by long-time players.

Adventure Rich in "Power Ups"

The trailer also confirms the arrival of classic characters like Birdo and Mouser, alongside highly spectacular sequences involving Mario and Luigi, featuring iconic power-ups and surreal situations. Luigi himself seems to gain narrative space, demonstrating that the film intends to better distribute the spotlight.

From a creative standpoint, the film maintains the winning team: production entrusted to Chris Meledandri and Shigeru Miyamoto, directed by Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic, music by Brian Tyler. The cast features new additions such as Brie Larson (Rosalina) and Benny Safdie (Bowser Jr.), suggesting a more epic and cosmic tone.

After the enormous success of the first film, The Super Mario Galaxy Movie seems to want to raise the bar even higher. The release is set in Italy for April 1, 2026.
