Stranger Things is preparing to say goodbye with a fifth season that promises to shake fans. And it will do so with a legendary face: Linda Hamilton, the iconic Sarah Connor from Terminator, officially joins the cast to play the new antagonist of the Hawkins group.

Her character, Dr. Kay, is described by the Duffer brothers as a government scientist as brilliant as she is ruthless, tasked with hunting down Eleven. No lab coat and bureaucracy: Kay is ready to pick up a weapon and get her hands dirty, embodying a threat more human but equally lethal than the monsters of the Upside Down.

A character more complex than she appears

Linda Hamilton said that filming this final season was the most challenging of her career: a year of work for 8 monumental episodes. “Every day was like shooting the final scene of a movie,” the enthusiastic but exhausted actress declared.

With her charismatic presence, Hamilton brings an unprecedented physical and psychological tension to the series. The Duffers describe her as a complex character, driven by ambiguous and perhaps not entirely evil motivations. A fascinating reversal: the woman who once saved humanity from rebellious machines now becomes Eleven's nemesis. And if the promise is an “bigger than anything that came before” finale, Stranger Things 5 seems destined to end with a bang.
