Splitgate 2 is back, but it's different and has changed its name
1047 Games tries to relaunch a franchise in an identity crisis
Splitgate 2 is back on screens but... it's no longer called Splitgate 2. The sequel to the portal shooter was released last spring, in a condition that did not convince users. To remedy this, developer 1047 Games made a drastic and sensational decision: withdraw the game and return to the beta version. Now the title is available again, but with decisive changes, starting with the name.
What's new in Splitgate: Arena Reloaded
The newcomer is called Splitgate: Arena Reloaded and, according to its creators, it encapsulates the best that Splitgate 1 and 2 had to offer. To correct course after the disastrous launch of Splitgate 2, numerous modifications have been made: the most relevant consists of the elimination of factions and abilities, which also led to a series of chain changes, for example in microtransactions.
Splitgate: Arena Reloaded offers five additional maps at launch (bringing the total count to 20), new weapons, and refinements from multiple points of view. You can find the long list of new features on Steam. We remind you that the game is a free-to-play title, available on PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series X|S, PC (Steam, Xbox Store, Epic Games Store).
