With the commercial run in full swing, the bar could move much higher

Spider-Man: Brand New Day has just reached a figure that very few films in cinema history have managed to achieve. The new chapter starring Tom Holland has surpassed 2 billion dollars at the worldwide box office after just three weekends, becoming the eighth film ever to do so and the second fastest after Avengers: Endgame.

The result carries even more weight considering the speed with which it arrived. The film collected approximately 785.8 million dollars in North America, while the international total brought the overall haul over 2.02 billion.

The new record now seems less distant

At this point, the comparison with Spider-Man: No Way Home is already surpassed: the previous film with Holland stopped at around 1.9 billion. Brand New Day also benefited from the Chinese market, which was absent for the previous chapter.

The question is no longer just about the 2 billion dollar milestone. With a commercial run still in full swing, the bar could move much higher. 3 billion remains a far from certain feat, but the pace shown so far makes it impossible to ignore the hypothesis.
