Josh Brolin reignites Sicario 3 with a confirmation that leaves little room for doubt. The actor has revealed that the new chapter of the saga is now in motion, also indicating a possible acceleration of work.
During an interview with ScreenRant on August 21, the actor spoke openly about the project, assuring that the film “will happen” and implying that production could soon enter a new phase. When asked about the timeline, Brolin indicated a start “soon.”
New Story or Will It Pick Up With Alejandro?
For now, no details have been released about the story, nor a possible release date. It remains to be seen what direction the new chapter will take and, above all, who will return in front of the camera. Brolin could reunite with Benicio del Toro, once again in the role of the hitman Alejandro Gillick. The two shared the spotlight in the first two films, while Emily Blunt starred in the chapter directed by Denis Villeneuve in 2015. Sicario: Day of the Soldado, which arrived in 2018, was instead handled by Stefano Sollima.
The screenplay for the first two films was penned by Taylor Sheridan(!). At the moment, it has not been clarified whether the new episode will follow the same creative path. It is true that at the end of the second film, Alejandro met his young nemesis, seemingly peacefully.
