A brilliant author since his debut with The Evil Dead (1981), Sam Raimi is back behind the camera with Send Help, a survival thriller with ironically dark tones set to debut in theaters in January 2026 from 20th Century Studios. The official trailer, just released online, shows a return to the director's more raw and grotesque cinema, this time without supernatural elements but with all his unmistakable visual signature.

Starring Rachel McAdams and Dylan O’Brien as Linda and Bradley, respectively an employee and her boss in a large company, they are the sole survivors of a plane crash who find themselves on a deserted island. The fight for survival quickly becomes a psychological war of suspicion, manipulation, and sudden power shifts, in a constant balance between tension and black humor.

Also in the cast are Edyll Ismail, Dennis Haysbert, Xavier Samuel, Chris Pang, Thaneth Warakulnukroh, and Emma Raimi. The screenplay is penned by Damian Shannon and Mark Swift (Friday the 13th, Baywatch), while the soundtrack is by Danny Elfman, a long-time collaborator of Raimi.

Produced by Raimi himself with Zainab Azizi, Send Help promises a tense, mocking, and surprisingly human experience. As the director stated: “I’m interested in stories where characters are pushed to their limits. That’s where they reveal their true nature.”
