Zach Cregger's Resident Evil continues to keep most of its creatures hidden, but the latest TV spot finally offers a more substantial look at one of the saga's most recognizable presences.

The footage features what initially appears to be a normal dog. However, it only takes a few moments for its true nature to be revealed: the animal's skull opens, showing the horrible transformation that turns it into one of the famous Zombie Dogs, also known as Cerberus in the video games.

A Dog, Then Something Goes Terribly Wrong

It's a detail that confirms Cregger's intention to focus on the monstrous aspect of the Resident Evil universe. The director had already hinted at a greater emphasis on creatures compared to traditional zombies, while Sony continues to carefully ration images of the monsters in promotional materials. The spot also features the first appearance of Paul Walter Hauser in the film.

Set in the world of the famous video game saga, the new Resident Evil stars Austin Abrams as Bryan, a medical courier unwillingly caught up in a night destined to turn into a desperate fight for survival. The Italian theatrical release is set for September 17, 2026.
