Rayman 30th Anniversary Rated in Australia
Announcement coming soon for Ubisoft?
Rayman turned 30 years old: Ubisoft's mascot (if we can call him that) debuted in 1995 on PC, PS1, SEGA Saturn, and Atari Jaguar. A lot of water has passed under the bridge since then, and the eggplant-man has lived through many adventures.
Last September, Ubisoft announced upcoming celebrations for the third decade and, at the same time, a collaboration between its Milan and Montpellier studios regarding the future of the series. Since then, we haven't had any official announcements, but recently the Australian classification board [the equivalent of our PEGI] has listed a Rayman 30th Anniversary Edition.
At the moment, there are neither confirmations nor denials from the Franco-American-Canadian company, but intuitively, the title makes us think of a re-release of the first, legendary chapter of the purple hero with the rebellious tuft; however, we wouldn't be surprised if it were a collection containing multiple chapters, from the early days up to... you name it.
The last chapter of the saga was Rayman Legends, which we Reviewed on PS4 in 2014 and on Nintendo Switch in 2017: after that episode, the protagonist only appeared as a "guest" in Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope and in various Mobile titles.
