Project Hail Mary – The Last Mission and the New Italian Trailer
In one week, the first trailer garnered 400 million views
Amazon MGM Studios has released the second trailer for Project Hail Mary – The Last Mission, an adaptation of Andy Weir's novel that marks Ryan Gosling's return to science fiction. Directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller and written by Drew Goddard, the film tells the story of Ryland Grace, a teacher who wakes up with no memory, alone on a spaceship, and with a vital mission: to prevent the Sun from dying out.
The new images finally introduce the most unexpected element of the work: the presence of an alien, nicknamed Rocky, who becomes the protagonist's ally. The dynamic between the two, already hinted at in the novel, seems destined to become the emotional core of the adaptation, shifting the tone towards a more human and surprisingly intimate science fiction.
Between Epic Adventure and Intimate Emotions
The project starts with impressive numbers. The first trailer garnered 400 million views in one week, a record for an Amazon MGM original production. Contributing to the hype is the author's own approval: Weir called the film “excellent” during Comic-Con 2025, praising the directors' approach and fidelity to the screenplay.
Alongside Gosling are Sandra Hüller, Milana Vayntrub, Lionel Boyce, and Ken Leung. The work promises a story that alternates scientific tension with moments of sincere connection, following the success of The Martian. All indicators suggest that Project Hail Mary could deliver more than a few emotions.
