Predator, Arnold Schwarzenegger and the Return of Dutch
The Austrian actor revealed what people mention to him when they meet him
It seems incredible, but fate could bring Arnold Schwarzenegger back to one of the most iconic roles of his incredible career: Dutch Schaefer, the hero of Predator (1987). Reigniting fans' hopes was none other than Dan Trachtenberg, director of Prey and the recent Predator: Killer of Killers, who confessed in an interview with Empire that he had spoken directly with the Austrian actor.
Schwarzenegger, amused, revealed that on the street, people don't repeat the famous "I'll be back" from Terminator as much as the unforgettable "Get to the chopper!" from Predator. A sign that, almost forty years later, John McTiernan's film remains etched in the collective imagination.
He was the only survivor in the jungle
Trachtenberg emphasized that there is still much to explore: from the fate of Dutch and Naru, the protagonist of Prey, to the possibility of finding them again in the saga's narrative present. And Arnold's return would not be a cameo, but a significant piece to give continuity to the story.
The timing couldn't be better: on November 6, 2025, Predator: Badlands will be released in Italy, a new highly anticipated adventure that will bring the fearsome Yautja to unprecedented settings. No official confirmation on Schwarzenegger's presence, but anticipation is already sky-high.
Imagining Dutch, aged but still ready for battle, alongside Naru is a scenario that sparks the imagination, blending nostalgia, action, and myth.
