Pokémon Pokopia Starts Strong: 2.2 Million Copies in 4 Days
The series spinoff is already a success
Game Freak, the Japanese studio behind the Pokémon series, joined forces with Omega Force (Tecmo Koei's studio famous for musou games) to create something different: a game still set in the Pocket Monsters universe, but one that, instead of captures and battles, offered a life simulator experience with a relaxed approach and significant creative freedom.
Pokémon Pokopia Launch Sales
This experience is called Pokémon Pokopia and was released a week ago, exclusively on the Nintendo Switch 2 console. The experiment can be considered a complete success: with a press release, The Pokémon Company and Nintendo announce that the game has surpassed 2.2 million copies sold in the first 4 days, with 1 million of those in Japan. It's no coincidence that in our review, we consider Pokopia one of the most successful cozy games of recent years.
