Orbitals Reveals Voice Cast with Opening Animation
When It Takes Two becomes a space anime
Publisher Kepler Interactive and developer Shapefarm have shared the animated opening cinematic for Orbitals. This video game is a cooperative experience for two players, where constant collaboration is required to overcome various obstacles, with continuously changing gameplay (think It Takes Two?, well, something like that). The protagonists, Maki and Omura, are two space explorers intent on saving their colony from destruction.
The Voice Cast
The animated opening, created with the help of Studio Massket, showcases the sought-after '90s anime style that characterizes this production and provides a taste of the voice acting in various languages. As for English, the cast includes the following actors:
- Rebecca Wang plays Maki, a strong-willed mechanic and the youngest person in the space colony.
- Stephen Fu plays Omura, a quiet cartographer, often lost in his own thoughts. Omura and Maki grew up together in the space colony, as if they were twins.
- Jonathan Ha plays Togen, the silent and reserved leader of the space colony.
- Cassie Ewulu plays Kinakoko, a blunt and boisterous mechanic, kind... but in her own way!
- Brent Mukai plays Jaga, an exuberant merchant whom Maki and Omura meet during their adventure.
Additionally, the Japanese voice cast includes Risa Kageyama, Ryota Ōsaka, Masaaki Mizunaka, Mayumi Oda, Tatsuya Kobayashi, and many others.
Where and When Orbitals Will Be Released
Developer Shapefarm is a Tokyo-based studio making its debut title after spending 14 years supporting other projects. The release date for Orbitals is set for September 3, 2026; the game will be an absolute exclusive for Nintendo Switch 2.
