Octopath Traveler 0 Gets Story Trailer and Demo
Less than a month before launch, the new chapter of the saga returns to show itself
The Octopath Traveler franchise had the undeniable merit of popularizing HD-2D, the style straddling two and three dimensions that gave new life and a touch of modernity to classic JRPGs. Square Enix shows us the new chapter in the series, Octopath Traveler 0, so named because you have to… start from scratch, restoring a ruined village to its former glory.
The trailer shown at State of Play is dedicated to the story: we witness some events and familiarize ourselves with some of the main characters, although there is also room for some gameplay snippets. Octopath Traveler 0 will be released on December 4, 2025 on PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 1 and 2, PC (Windows, Steam). If you want to try it, a demo is out today, allowing you to play the first three hours: saves can then be transferred to the full version, if purchased.
