Ninja Gaiden 4 Shows Us Its Difficulty Options
Yakumo's journey can be made much simpler… or much harder
Even Ninja Gaiden, a franchise known for its uncompromising challenge, has succumbed to the temptation of making its experience accessible to those less familiar with a controller. One can only reach this conclusion after watching the trailer shared during the Xbox Tokyo Game Show 2025 Broadcast, which presents the options that allow players to modulate the difficulty of Ninja Gaiden 4.
Ninja Gaiden 4's New Hero Mode
Players will be able to select the difficulty level: the lowest has been named "Hero Mode" and provides many combat aids, such as automatic parries and dodges. These aids can be deactivated, and if a bit more competition is desired, players can switch at any time to "Normal" and "Hard" levels (for these two, there was no need to find a name to make them sound prettier...).
Fortunately, more skilled fans will have plenty to sink their teeth into. There is an even higher difficulty level, "Master Ninja", where enemies become very aggressive and players will need to respond to every attack with timing and precision if they don't want to succumb. This level will be within reach of only a few, but it should provide a great sense of satisfaction. Ninja Gaiden 4 releases on October 21 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC (Windows, Steam) and will be available day one on Game Pass.
