MSI introduces the new Katana 15 HX C14, a gaming laptop that primarily focuses on dimensions without sacrificing high-end hardware. The chassis shrinks to 22.9 mm thick and the weight stops at 2.1 Kg, a reduction of 10.2% and 12.5% respectively compared to the previous model.

At the top of the range is the i9-14900HX processor with 24 cores, capable of reaching 5.8 GHz in "Turbo" mode, accompanied by the GeForce RTX 5070 Laptop with 8 GB of GDDR7 memory. This combination is also designed to leverage ray tracing and DLSS 4.5 in the latest games.

Thinner Katana, but still expandable

The screen can be chosen in a QHD 165 Hz version, with full coverage of the DCI-P3 color space, or Full HD at 144 Hz with 100% sRGB. The platform also allows for up to 96 GB of RAM through 2x SO-DIMM slots and houses 2x M.2 PCIe 4.0 SSDs.

To dissipate heat, MSI uses the Cooler Boost system, with 2x fans, 3x heat pipes, and 4x air outlets. The combined power allocated to the CPU and GPU can reach 170 W. The features are completed by Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.4, USB-C with DisplayPort and Power Delivery, HDMI 2.1, and a 60 Wh battery. The price depends on the configuration and the sales market.
