In February 2022, the independent American studio Yacht Club Games launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund its next project. The initiative was a huge success: the target of $311,503 was raised in less than 12 hours, and ultimately, the funds almost quadrupled the initial request. The result is not surprising, as the studio could count on the trust of legions of players gained with Shovel Knight.

Yacht Club Games' new work is called Mina the Hollower and stars an anthropomorphic mouse, intent on saving a cursed island. The game's aesthetic harks back to the 8-bit style of the Game Boy Color, with a minimalist yet distinctive look. In terms of gameplay, we are in the realm of an action/adventure similar to 2D Zelda games. After a long wait, Mina the Hollower was supposed to be released in October 2025, but it had been postponed indefinitely.

When Mina the Hollower Comes Out and How Much It Costs
