Masters of the Universe - First Look at Mekaneck
The discovery through official merchandise promos dedicated to the toys
The Masters of the Universe live-action film continues to generate buzz, and this time, a concrete preview isn't coming from a trailer but from official merchandise. On the back ("cardback") of the Skel-Knight "First Ones/Core" figure, an image of Mekaneck's cinematic costume has appeared, offering a clearer look at the design conceived for the big screen.
The character, a historic member of the Heroic Warriors, retains his iconic elements: technological armor, a distinctive helmet, and, most notably, his famous extendable bionic neck that earned him the nickname "Heroic Human Periscope." The live-action adaptation aims for a more realistic and metallic aesthetic without distorting his identity.

The film, directed by Travis Knight, will bring a new version of the world of Eternia to cinemas. Nicholas Galitzine will play Prince Adam/He-Man, while Jared Leto will portray Skeletor. The cast also includes Camila Mendes (Teela) and Idris Elba (Duncan/Man-At-Arms). According to the synopsis, Adam will return to Eternia after fifteen years of absence, guided by the Sword of Power, finding a kingdom devastated by Skeletor's rule. The Italian release is set for June 4, 2026.
The fact that even a secondary character like Mekaneck receives such detailed attention suggests an intention to build a coherent and potentially serial universe, going beyond a simple nostalgia operation.
