Marvel - Does Zodiac Hide a Clue About Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.?
Among the hypotheses is a production with a British spy story feel
Amit Cohen and Ron Leshem will write Zodiac, the new Marvel Television series that focuses on espionage and could bring the legacy of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. back into the spotlight. The news reported by Deadline confirms the involvement of the two Israeli authors, already linked to thriller productions such as Trust No One and Traitor.
The project will follow a pair of spies tasked with tracking down individuals with special abilities. Brad Winderbaum, head of Marvel Television Animation and Comics, has fueled fan curiosity by indicating the presence of a hidden reference to S.H.I.E.L.D. in the series' logo. No confirmation yet on the return of Phil Coulson or Daisy Johnson.
Zodiac Looks to British Thrillers
According to Knight Edge Media, the production will have a British spy story feel, with darker atmospheres compared to James Bond's cinematic adventures. Among the cited references is The Americans. Casting is reportedly for three original characters, two men and one woman, with no direct comic book equivalents.
The rumors have reignited hypotheses about the introduction of MI-13, the British Marvel comics agency specializing in supernatural threats. It remains to be seen if Zodiac will be connected to the events of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. or if it will introduce a new intelligence network into the MCU. For now, the series is still in development.
