Publisher Xbox Game Studios and developer Double Fine announce the release of Kiln: the game is available starting today, April 23, on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC (Steam, Xbox PC). As a first-party Microsoft title, you'll naturally find it on the Game Pass service from day one. Kiln is an original multiplayer brawler where you first sculpt a clay pot, then send it to battle in an arena with its peers, trying to smash them into shards.

The Kiln Roadmap

At launch, Kiln offers the main mode, Quench Mode, along with five maps: Athena’s War Room, Anubis’ Boat of the Dead, Hermes’ Package Center, Dionysus’ Boogie Lounge, and Set’s Basement Mosh Pit. However, Double Fine isn't wasting any time expanding its work: according to the roadmap shared on the Xbox blog, new content is coming in the first four weeks after launch. Specifically:

  • Week 1: Dinosaur Decoration Pack
  • Week 2: New map, Hades
  • Week 3: Sticker Pack
  • Week 4: Cats & Dogs Decoration Pack (paid)

But that's not all, because this summer will bring the "Mission Criti-Bowl" feature, along with two additional maps for Quench Mode, missions, the Pot Journal, additions to the progression system, and more. Subsequently, in 2026, it will be the turn of Photo Mode and other game modes. Side note: there's something brilliant about the choice of song for the launch trailer…
