The first trailer for In A Violent Nature 2 brings back one of the most radical experiments in recent slasher cinema. Johnny is the silent killer we observed moving through the trees like an inexorable shadow in the previous chapter, once again the protagonist of another nightmare in the woods.

Chris Nash remains at the helm as director, while Independent Film Company, Shudder, and Charades are still involved in production and distribution. The sequel picks up from the idea that made the original unique: following the story almost exclusively from the killer's point of view, subverting the genre's traditional perspective.

In the Eye of the Serial Killer

In the new chapter, a medallion linked to a sixty-year-old crime reactivates Johnny's fury. A group of young people, gathered for an end-of-season party at an isolated campsite, thus finds themselves at the center of a spiral of violence that promises to be even more explicit and brutal.

The released images show a tense and contemplative atmosphere, with long moments of silence interrupted by sudden explosions of ferocity. The pace seems faster than before, but without betraying the minimalist and immersive approach that had divided audiences.

If the first film surprised with its formal audacity, where the camera followed the mad killer more than the victims, this sequel aims to raise the stakes further. We will see if it manages to distinguish itself with its alternative and more intriguing approach compared to the (all too) canonical and overused slasher genre.
