Helldivers 2: Machinery of Oppression Update Arrives Tomorrow
The war on the robot planet is about to begin
The story of Helldivers 2 continues with a new chapter, marking the return of a cybernetic enemy. We hinted at these new developments last week, when the Helldivers were called to arms to repel the "threat" of the Automatons. In purely gameplay terms, this is a new major update, called Machinery of Oppression, which will be available tomorrow, February 10, on all Helldivers 2 platforms.
If last week's trailer took on farcical tones, in line with the production's tenor, well, the new one leans even harder into it. The developers themselves get excited depicting the enemy faction, defined as "socialist", a threat that would endanger our way of life. The enemies then have names that are quite telling: commanders are called Agitators, while bio-enhanced soldiers are Radicals. Not to be overlooked are the Vox Engines, armored vehicles armed to the teeth.
