On November 15, 2001, the first Xbox arrived on the market in the United States. Microsoft's console was accompanied by what would become its flagship game: Halo: Combat Evolved. The title developed by Bungie Studios immediately established itself as a killer application, the benchmark for first-person shooters on console. If for some reason you missed it, next year you'll be able to fill that gap in your game library.

Details of the Halo Remake

Xbox Game Studios has announced Halo: Campaign Evolved, which is the remake of the campaign from the first Halo. Master Chief's original adventure against the Covenant aliens is brought back to life thanks to Unreal Engine 5, with 4K graphics, new animations and cutscenes, a remastered soundtrack, and new voice acting. The campaign features improved level design and faithfully follows the 2001 original, also offering three new prequel missions.

This remake will expand the original formula with several additions: for example, there will be nine more weapons, taken from the Halo universe; or, you'll even be able to pilot the Covenant Wraith. The campaign can be played by two players in local split-screen cooperative multiplayer (console only), or by up to four players in the brand-new online cooperative multiplayer.

When and Where Halo: Campaign Evolved Will Be Released

Developed by Halo Studios, Halo: Campaign Evolved will be released in 2026. You'll be able to embark on Master Chief's first campaign on PlayStation 5 (yes, Halo is coming to PlayStation!), Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Xbox PC and Steam. Naturally, you'll find this game on the Game Pass service from day one.
