In April 2005, publisher NCSOFT and developer ArenaNet launched Guild Wars Prophecies, the progenitor of what has become one of the most thriving MMORPG franchises. Riding the wave of enthusiasm for the series' 20th-anniversary celebrations, the announcement of Guild Wars Reforged arrives, a project that will begin on PC from December 3, 2025, with updates that will be free for those who already own the expansions and at a reduced price for those who do not. These updates are just the beginning of a renewal process for the franchise, which will continue in the future.
Features of Guild Wars Reforged
- New reduced price: Guild Wars Reforged brings together Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall for only €19.99. If you have purchased even just one of the three campaigns, all will be unlocked through Guild Wars Reforged. Naturally, there are no subscription fees.
- Hardware compatibility: Guild Wars Reforged is Steam Deck verified and supports modern controllers. The user interface has been redesigned with larger text options, and the game supports high-resolution displays.
- Visual and audio updates: Dynamic sky effects, new ambient occlusion, and lighting updates make the most of modern GPUs. Other visual tweaks refine textures and make the visual experience cleaner, while new positional audio support makes the world more immersive.
- Ease of use: In addition to the updated user interface that allows for simpler navigation, Guild Wars Reforged introduces a new quest tracking system and an on-screen control guide.
