Fortnite Override brings Sora, Sonic, Crash, Spyro, Mega Man, and Persona from August 20

Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4: Override will begin on August 20 and will place video games at the center of the new season. After a series of teasers and anticipations, Epic Games has published the [official Override trailer], confirming the arrival of Sora from Kingdom Hearts, Crash Bandicoot, Spyro, Mega Man, and Joker from Persona 5, along with numerous other characters and franchises.

The group is particularly large. As reconstructed by [Video Games Chronicle] based on the trailer and official artwork, new collaborations include Sonic the Hedgehog, Tails, Dr. Eggman, and Shadow, in addition to Sora, Joker, Crash Bandicoot, Spyro, Mega Man, and his robotic companion Rush. Completing the picture for now are Pac-Man and Tetris, the latter naturally represented through the characteristic elements of the series rather than a true character.

Epic had already set the stage in the preceding days with a short teaser dedicated to Sonic and the slogan “Break the rules, change the game”. The full trailer, however, clarifies the scope of the operation: the crossovers do not seem to be simple collateral additions to the shop, but constitute the visual identity of the season.

It remains to be seen how all this content will be distributed. Epic Games has not yet specified which characters will be part of the Battle Pass, which will arrive separately in the shop, and which might be used as Sidekicks, NPCs, or through other mechanics. The presence in the trailer, therefore, confirms the involvement of the respective intellectual properties, but does not automatically equate to the availability of every character as a playable skin.

The promotional artwork also shows faces that have already appeared in Fortnite, including Ryu and Blanka from Street Fighter, Master Chief from Halo, Geralt from The Witcher, and Lara Croft. Even in this case, their presence in the image is not enough, at least for now, to confirm an immediate return to the shop.

Fortnite has long had the Gaming Legends Series category, reserved precisely for costumes and cosmetic items from other video games. Over the years, the battle royale has already hosted characters from Resident Evil, Metal Gear Solid, Mortal Kombat, God of War, Assassin's Creed, Doom, and Cyberpunk 2077. With Override, however, Epic concentrates this component into an entire season and simultaneously brings some of the most notable absences remaining in its catalog of collaborations into the game, starting with Kingdom Hearts, Crash Bandicoot, Spyro, and Mega Man.
