After the 20-minute trailer presented a few months ago, EXODUS made a grand reappearance on the Gamescom stage to finally announce the game's release date: April 7, 2027 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, and Epic Games Store.

The new gameplay trailer introduces Salt, an Awakened Octopus, mercenary, and bounty hunter who will join protagonist Jun on his journey, also offering a new look at combat and the game's vast, explorable universe. Piloting a specialized combat mech, Salt is a master of long-range precision shooting, rapid evasive maneuvers, and ink-like smoke screens that confuse and disorient enemies. Jun and Salt, from very different worlds, find themselves fighting side-by-side against the same enemy, not only to survive but to protect what both call home.

Alongside Salt, Emrys also joins the battle: a member of the enigmatic Deva, a celestial species with multiple consciousnesses, he plays a support role by launching Remnant Orbs that drain and weaken enemies, then using the acquired energy to protect Jun.

A few days before the event, Archetype had already announced EXODUS's Wishlist Milestones, a reward system designed to thank the community awaiting the game. With over 500,000 additions to wishlists, the first milestone has already been reached, unlocking a Celestial Star Map Decoration for the in-game apartment, a new assortment of concept art, and the first track from the soundtrack, "Elegy for a Forgotten World". Fans can continue to unlock further rewards as the next milestones are reached, including cosmetics, a dedicated cinematic for Salt, and new music tracks.
