Edge of Memories offers a gameplay overview

Publisher Nacon and developer Midgar Studio have shared a new trailer for Edge of Memories, illustrating the game's key aspects. This action/RPG takes place on the continent of Avaris, a land inhabited by nomadic peoples that is struck by the Corrosion, a dark evil that kills everything it encounters. The only ones who can save Avaris are the protagonist Eline and her two companions, Ysoris and Kanta.

Edge of Memories Gameplay

Edge of Memories features a high-intensity combat system focused on action, where players chain together rapid attacks and time dodges against enemy attacks. Eline herself is afflicted by the Corrosion, a condition that can be used as a weapon: the protagonist can transform into a devastating dark beast after filling a dedicated bar by landing hits and dodges.

In battle, Eline will be able to rely on the valuable support of her two companions: the player will have to choose which techniques Ysoris and Kanta should employ. As Edge of Memories progresses, the trio will gain access to numerous additional abilities. Regarding exploration, Avaris is a semi-open world consisting of various biomes, with secret areas and new paths to discover; Eline can traverse it by riding a Nekaroo, a special feline companion.

When and Where Edge of Memories Releases

Edge of Memories was initially planned for autumn 2025 but has been postponed to the current year: barring further delays, the launch window is therefore set for 2026. The work by the French developers at Midgar Studio, clearly inspired by JRPGs, will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
