EA Sports FC Predicted the World Cup Winner, for the 5th Time in a Row
Electronic Arts' football simulation has correctly predicted the winner since 2010
As you undoubtedly know, Spain was crowned World Champion after defeating Argentina in the final, a success considered well-deserved by almost all observers. What you might not know is that the second Iberian triumph in the top football competition had been predicted by EA Sports FC. Just a lucky guess? Perhaps, but it certainly wasn't the first.
EA Sports FC Always Guesses the Winner
Before the global event began, Electronic Arts used its football video game to simulate all the matches of the competition and shared its prediction via Twitter: Spain champions. What's impressive, however, is that for the American company (now much less American) this is the fifth consecutive time: EA's virtual simulations had also correctly predicted the previous 4 editions.
We called it. You played it. Spain made it a reality.
