Emily Watson has hinted that the second season of Dune: Prophecy will put Valya Harkonnen in a situation she has never had to face before. During the Sarajevo Film Festival, the actress spoke about the new episodes, keeping the plot under wraps, but she teased “many new elements” and described the journey ahead as particularly fun.

The starting point is the first season's finale, which forced Valya to leave behind the certainties she had built up until that moment. After the events that disrupted the series' balance, the protagonist found herself headed for Arrakis along with Princess Ynez and Keiran Atreides.

Emily Watson Promises a Different Valya

This shift is not just about the location where the next events will take place. Valya is no longer in the privileged position from which she could observe and manipulate events according to her own plans. The new journey could therefore force her to react to unpredictable situations, testing the control she has always tried to exert over others.

Watson described this experience as a “quest,” revealing a side of the character that had less space in the first season. And when asked to be more precise about the new developments, the actress preferred not to elaborate: “My head would explode if I mentioned any of them.” A response that, at least, confirms that the next chapter will have quite a few surprises in store for Valya.
