DualSense V3 Could Have Replaceable Battery

The rumor about the new version of the PlayStation peripheral

DualSense, the official controller made by Sony for PS5, despite providing a more powerful battery than the one assembled on the DualShock 4 of PS4, tends, in the long run, to suffer from progressively decreasing charge duration even after substantial charging times.

Nevertheless, what the usual Insiders say could be the solution devised by Sony for the next version of the peripheral, identified by the code V3, is surprising: according to the Polish leaker Graczdari [the same, to his credit, who had predicted the arrival of Flight Simulator on PlayStation] the controller supplied with the next batch of PS5s - also designed to improve energy consumption - would offer the possibility of easily replacing the battery. The general idea, if this theory proves correct, would be a battery pack that is easily removable and replaceable, and not a compartment for inserting classic batteries [do you remember the first Xbox 360 controller? The battery pack was sold separately].

Sony was the first, with PS3, to distribute its console with a controller - the Sixaxis - that incorporated a rechargeable battery not easily replaceable. As controller technology advances, the act of craftily opening them - removing screws and tiny screws - to replace the battery has become progressively more complex: from this point of view, the idea of a battery pack that can be replaced in a few seconds is certainly interesting.

...obviously, we will have to understand at what price these batteries will be sold...
