Dragon Quest VII Reimagined: State of Play Japan Trailer
Square Enix shows us how it reinvented its game
The honor of opening State of Play Japan, PlayStation's event focused on games made in Japan and Asia, went to Dragon Quest VII Reimagined: Square Enix shared a new trailer to show us how it reimagined its classic JRPG. We can admire some brief cutscene snippets, hinting at the game's story, before moving on to gameplay sequences that give us an idea of some of the new features.
Among these novelties, the most relevant is perhaps in terms of style, with the adoption of dioramas as backgrounds. However, there are also changes to the game and combat system. Dragon Quest VII Reimagined will be released on February 5, 2026: in addition to PlayStation 5, you will also find it on Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 1 and 2, and PC via Steam.
