Apple TV+ continues to focus on high-quality British thrillers and has just launched the first trailer for Down Cemetery Road, a new series based on the novel by Mick Herron. The global debut is set for October 29 with the first 2 episodes, followed by weekly releases until December 10.

The story opens in a quiet Oxford suburb, shaken by a sudden explosion, where in the chaos a child disappears without a trace. Sarah Trafford (Ruth Wilson), a neighbor, cannot ignore what happened and decides to investigate, turning to private detective Zoë Boehm (Emma Thompson). What seems like an isolated case soon becomes an intricate labyrinth of secrets, conspiracies, and deceptive identities.

Aims to replicate the success of Slow Horses

The series' big draw is the leading duo: Thompson, an Oscar winner and icon of British cinema, plays a cynical and disillusioned detective; Wilson, a Golden Globe winner, portrays an ordinary woman who transforms into an impromptu investigator. The chemistry between the two promises sparks and continuous tension.

The ensemble cast includes Adeel Akhtar, Nathan Stewart-Jarrett, Tom Riley, and Darren Boyd, confirming the project's ambition. Morwenna Banks, already involved in the splendid series Slow Horses, is on board for the screenplay, while Natalie Bailey directs.
