Close to You: Nintendo's Mysterious Trailer. Is Pikmin Involved?
A video shared without explanation, but one that seems to have a lot to say
Nintendo is once again adopting a cryptic communication strategy, sharing a trailer that is deliberately devoid of context and accompanying information, to pique viewers' curiosity. They did this last year with the Emio teaser, which later turned out to be a new, unexpected chapter in the Famicom Detective Club series. The new video has diametrically opposite atmospheres, but is equally mysterious.
A New Pikmin Game?
The Close to You trailer is set in an infant's room, where their pacifier is inexplicably transported around, a skit that culminates with the mother's return. The scene itself makes us think of those little creatures that love to carry small objects: one of them, if you look closely, seems to appear in the background at minute 1:39... We are, of course, talking about Pikmin. The trailer's music also resembles that of Pikmin games. Could this be the prelude to an announcement from Nintendo?
