Publisher Saber Interactive has shared a new trailer for Clive Barker’s Hellraiser: Revival, the horror title based on the famous film franchise, which will be released in 2026 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. In this video, the developers at Boss Team Games delve into some of the themes related to the work they are creating, also touching on controversial topics.

Details of Hellraiser: Revival

Clive Barker’s Hellraiser: Revival is a video game aimed at both lovers of psychological horror and fans of the saga. The story will follow the unfortunate Aiden, a protagonist afflicted by a past of addictions, who will unwillingly be overwhelmed by horror and forced to make a pact with the Cenobites to survive and get back his girlfriend Sunny, with whom he is obsessed.

In case it wasn't clear yet, Hellraiser: Revival will not be a game for everyone: violence, sex, and gore will abound. If you fear that your sensibilities might be offended, try to think of the developers who not only had to create everything but also had to research by carefully looking for reference material on the Internet… Fortunately, the team managed the situation with great detachment.

Boss Team Games had the honor of working closely with the great Clive Barker. He demanded that the developers fully understand what he believes to be the soul of Hellraiser, but once they did, he proved very understanding, giving his support to all the choices made by the team (provided, of course, they were respectful of the spirit of Hellraiser). The developers have included scenes in the game that are intended to make the viewer uncomfortable, but which are never gratuitous.

Hellraiser fans had a very positive reaction to the game's announcement trailer: according to many, a single-player horror experience was what they wanted from a Hellraiser title and what was missing. For the members of Boss Team Games, this reaction represented enormous satisfaction: such gratification is precious for someone who, like a developer, can spend years working without receiving any external feedback, without knowing whether their work will be appreciated or not.
