Clive Barker - New Books Reopen the Gates of Horror
The Kickstarter campaign will also allow access to exclusive content
Clive Barker returns to short horror fiction with Library of the Dead, an ambitious publishing project that will collect 3 new volumes and will be funded through Kickstarter. The campaign quickly surpassed its initial goal of €18,200, already reaching over €580,000(!).
The project is conceived as the ideal heir to Books of Blood and will accompany readers for an entire year. The books will be titled Fear Eternal, Pyres of Bedlam, and Dark Descents and will contain new material along with some hard-to-find texts.
A Return That Starts from Afar
What makes Library of the Dead particularly interesting will also be Barker's direct contribution. The author will create black and white illustrations and poems for the new volumes, while the covers will feature new artworks.
The Kickstarter campaign will also allow access to exclusive content, including a new remastered and bound edition of Books of Blood, a dedicated portfolio of Barker's works, and a special container inspired by his illustrations, designed to house the entire collection.
The first shipments are expected in 2027. But behind the project is an even more important piece of news: Barker has confirmed that he has fully recovered after a period of health problems and has rediscovered the desire to write new horror.
