Brendan Fraser continues to build an increasingly unpredictable comeback in Hollywood. The actor will star in Starman, a sci-fi thriller set on Mars that promises to move away from classic spectacle-filled digital effects to focus instead on the more human aspect of science fiction.

Directed by Josh Wakely, the film will tell the story of Tom Adams, a brilliant tech entrepreneur chosen to lead a historic mission to the Red Planet. What should be a scientific triumph, however, will turn into a desperate struggle against isolation and for survival.

Science Fiction That Delves into Human Depth

Early previews describe Starman as a more intimate and psychological work compared to traditional space blockbusters. At the heart of the story will not just be Mars or technology, but above all the emotional weight of solitude and the progressive deterioration of the protagonist, stranded millions of kilometers from Earth.

For Fraser, this is yet another important project in a particularly intense phase of his career. In the coming months, he will also play Dwight D. Eisenhower in the war film Pressure and will appear in the cast of Diamond alongside Dustin Hoffman and Bill Murray.

Meanwhile, anticipation remains high for The Mummy 4, which will bring Fraser and Rachel Weisz back to the screen as the iconic Rick and Evelyn O'Connell.
