Blades of Fire is an action/RPG set in a dark fantasy universe, drawing inspiration from soulslikes but not merely following in the footsteps of Dark Souls and similar titles: it's a game that managed to win us over, as we confessed in our review, although sales unfortunately fell below expectations. One of the reasons for its commercial failure is likely linked to the choice not to release on Steam, thus sacrificing potential PC sales.

What's New in Version 2.0

Today, almost a year after its initial release, Blades of Fire finally arrives on Steam with version 2.0. This new patch, available on all platforms (in addition to PC, there are PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S), introduces multiple new features: the two main ones are Titanium difficulty (a high challenge level where enemies have more HP, more armor, and deal 20% more damage) and New Game+ (where progression and stats acquired during the first run are maintained, but enemies scale accordingly).

Other new features include Anvil Trials (where defeated bosses can be challenged again), Arcana (collectible medals), Transmutation (a new system that allows materials to be converted directly at the forge), Photo Mode, supplementary Achievements, plus several improvements. On Steam, Blades of Fire is on sale until May 21st for €29.99, a 25% discount from its base price of €39.99.
