October 20, 2026 - As the light fades and days shorten, the search for the perfect story shifts to the darker, more enveloping shades of narration. For Halloween, Audible, an Amazon company and a major player in the production and distribution of quality audio entertainment: audiobooks, podcasts, and audio series, offers a selection of Originals dedicated to those seeking authoritative thrills and breathtaking atmospheres. Thanks to the unique and intimate power of audio, narration transforms into an immersive experience, where every whisper and creak comes to life with surprising realism.

AUDIBLE ORIGINALS NOT TO BE MISSED THIS HALLOWEEN

The selection is wide and covers all shades of fear: from classic gothic to contemporary horror, from psychological thriller to sci-fi and dark fantasy to listen to with headphones, in the car, or curled up on the sofa with the lights off, for the most daring. Let's start with the star genre of listening, the thriller.
For great lovers of suspense in headphones, Audible offers two new titles capable of making even the bravest shiver. Marking the great return of the authors of Effetto Eco, Adriano Barone and Luca Blengino, is La voce fantasma, narrated by Francesco Pannofino and Beatrice Maruffa, a web of mystery, true crime, and past secrets set against the backdrop of the Langhe region. In eight one-hour chapters, we follow Matteo Serra, a podcaster specializing in recent history, who in 2026 finds an old cassette with the recording of a girl asking for help and seemingly living prisoner of her own family. That voice, which recounts buried crimes and comes from 1979, convinces him to investigate: is it a fake, or a true story? And, in that case, what happened to the girl? Alongside him is police officer Tecla Di Salvo, with whom he will have to discover who wants those secrets to remain buried forever.
The second thriller is I Giochi del confine by Giorgio Boatti, read by Paolo Cresta, which takes the listener among the bunkers of the Cold War in eastern Friuli and the surface of the border between Italy and Slovenia. In Medeuzza, a decommissioned military complex and underground NATO base, four very rich men pay to hunt three young Afghan refugees, former Afghan army soldiers trained by the Italians in Herat, used as prey in exchange for passage to Germany. A journalist at the end of his career, tormented by guilt over a suppressed investigation, discovers that the bunker has become a "Game Area." With the help of Elena, an activist doctor who lost her brother Giacomo in the base, and the refugees themselves, the game is reversed: the prey know how to defend themselves, and Giacomo's diary holds a secret map of passages, indicated by animals carved on the walls, which can become the key to salvation. But the labyrinth hides unpredictable pitfalls for everyone. A claustrophobic eight-hour thriller in which underground action, psychological tension, and social commentary intertwine relentlessly.
Moving towards dystopian science fiction, with dark and gloomy undertones, the Halloween-themed choice is Cronache dei Vigilanti – Il decimo araldo, by Francesco Avoledo, narrated by Riccardo Ricobello and Simone Leonardi. The Audible Original tells of a remote future where technology coexists with a new Middle Ages. Here, a man awakens with no memory, with the voice of an AI, Vigilante Xenos, in his head. After attempting to take control of his body, Xenos pushes him to leave to change the world and fulfill their destiny. Along the journey through civilizations born from the ashes of the past, they meet the lethal warrior Uesugi, the erudite Marsilio, and Duchess Eliodora of Tiferet, with whom the protagonist will experience a forbidden love story.
For those who love dark atmospheres, the starting point is the gothic of Dracula, the new Audible Original audio series that gives voice to Bram Stoker's masterpiece. An adaptation that reinterprets the horror classic as a psychological thriller and transforms it into an immersive audio experience, thanks to an ensemble cast, an original soundtrack, and completely immersive sound design, which convey all the tension and atmosphere of a timeless story to the listener. In the roles of Dracula and Mina are Riccardo Scamarcio and Benedetta Porcaroli, two performers who bring to the story an idea of narration specifically designed for listening.
