Aphelion: Amine Bouhafa is the Composer of the Soundtrack
Music that encapsulates the grim hostility of a frozen planet
Aphelion tells us about a near future where Earth has become uninhabitable, and humanity places its remaining hopes on the exploration of a new planet, discovered at the edge of the solar system: Persephone. An expedition with two expert astronauts, Ariane and Thomas, is sent there: soon, however, their reconnaissance journey turns into a matter of survival on a frozen and hostile world.
This sci-fi action-adventure title, with a strong focus on the narrative component, is in development at the French studio Don't Nod. For its creation, the studio has consulted with the European Space Agency (ESA) to recreate a realistic experience. Aphelion will be released in 2026 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam, Xbox PC) platforms. Furthermore, you will find it on Game Pass from day one.
The Composer of Aphelion
Don't Nod announces that the soundtrack for Aphelion has been entrusted to Amine Bouhafa. This French-Tunisian composer is introduced in the game's new trailer. Bouhafa is known for composing the music for several films: notably, Timbuktu (2015, for which he was awarded the César for Best Original Music), The Summit of the Gods (2021), and The Little Sister (2025).
In the video, Bouhafa explains the genesis of Aphelion's soundtrack. To create appropriate music, the composer reflected on the interactive aspect of the audio, as well as the emotional relationships of the characters and, above all, the setting, because what is heard must convey the feeling of a frozen planet. Among the instruments used, the organ plays a prominent role.
