Games conceived as a service suffer from a conflicted relationship with obsolete hardware. On one hand, there's a desire to support a platform that has hosted these video games for years, also out of respect for those who still enjoy that platform. On the other hand, as time passes, hardware limitations become increasingly burdensome, and a moment arrives when it's essential to turn the page.

Apex Legends: The Date of Farewell to Nintendo Switch

Apex Legends was launched on the first Nintendo Switch in March 2021 and will remain there for a few more months. Developer Respawn has announced that the 29th season of the title will be the last for the console: starting from the 30th, which is August 4, 2026, Apex Legends will no longer be available on Nintendo Switch. Until that date, users can continue to play regularly and purchase premium in-game currency.

Apex Legends Account Transfers to Switch 2

Apex Legends players on Nintendo Switch will not lose anything, but will be forced to change consoles: all progress, items, currency, etc., from their account can be transferred to Nintendo Switch 2, even if Switch 2 is purchased after August 4, 2026.
