Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve Takes Flight in 2026

In 2025, the Ace Combat series celebrated its 30th anniversary: the original chapter, Air Combat, was released way back in 1995 on the first PlayStation. To date, this saga has sold over 20 million copies, but it saw a significant increase in popularity after Ace Combat 7, which alone sold over six million units. Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve will re-propose the same ingredients that made the series a success, namely a mix of intense arcade combat and dramatic military stories. The campaign missions offer spectacular vistas, with dynamic layered cloud masses serving as the backdrop for frantic battles. Once on the ground (or rather, on the aircraft carrier), the pilot's story is told through engaging first-person cutscenes.

Developed by Project Aces, the studio formed by the series' creators, Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve will be released in 2026. You'll be able to take flight on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, via Steam.
